FlashCable® Interface Cable for Scientech Zeta Series Electronic Balance
Sends data to our GageMux® multiple input interface or similar devices
We can create a Digimatic output interface cable for any Scientech Electronic Balance. This FlashCable® gage interface is engineered to change the output on the Scientech Zeta Series Electronic Balance to an output in a Digimatic format. The 9-pin male connector on this Advanced Systems & Designs FlashCable® connects to 9-pin RS-232 interface connector on the Scientech Zeta Series Electronic Balance. This FlashCable® gage interface is designed to work with our GageMux® or other similar devices that recognize the Mitutoyo Digimatic signal.
The FlashCable® gage interface does not obtain any power from the Scientech Electronic Balance. When connected to the GageMux®, pin 9 of the 10-pin input port provides the power to the FlashCable®. If using devices, other than the GageMux®, make sure pin 9 of the 10-pin connector provides a 5vDC supply to the FlashCable® gage interface.
When the FlashCable® gage interface is connected to the GageMux®, the LED on the FlashCable® turns GREEN. This indicates that the FlashCable® gage interface is connected properly. The LED turns RED when the data is being sent or a data request is triggered.
The data transfer can be triggered using any of the following methods:
- Using the SEND button on the Scientech Zeta Series Electronic Balance
- Sending a gage read command from the computer to the Scientech Zeta Series Electronic Balance

A detailed operation manual is included with this FlashCable® gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the FlashCable® gage interface to the default settings on the Scientech Zeta Series Electronic Balance. Make sure both the Scientech Electronic Balance and FlashCable® gage interface are set to the same values. Refer to the Scientech Zeta Series Electronic Balance Setup and Operating Procedures for more information on external communication.
