SmartCable Keyboard for MRC BPS Series Balance
Send data directly to Excel---No Software Wedge Required
This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable USB Keyboard, single gage interface, connects the MRC BPS Series Laboratory Precision Balance to a computer to send data to Excel or other spreadsheet programs. Connects the BPS Series Precision Balance to the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface using a 9-pin female cable connector---no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the SmartCable to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application (like Excel) or internet explorer based SPC program - no messy software wedge required. The SmartCable Keyboard will make the MRC BPS-Series Precision Balance readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect SPC data into a Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet applications, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by the following:
Pressing the send, print or enter button on the BPS-Series Balance
Pressing the button on the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface
Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. The communication parameters can be changed and reconfigured per requirements for both the SmartCable and the device. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable Keyboard to the default settings on the MRC BPS-Series Precision Balance. Make sure both the SmartCable and MRC Balance are set to the same values. Refer to the MRC BPS-Series Laboratory Precision Balance user manual for more information on external communication.
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable Keyboard.
