The ASDQMS SmartCable automatically formats the positional data from the ND 280 and transmits it as keyboard input, allowing you to effortlessly record measurements directly into spreadsheets, databases, or any other software that accepts keyboard input.

Readings can be triggered by the following:

• Pressing the send, PRINT soft key on the Heidenhain ND280 Digital Position Display

• Pressing the button on the ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard gage interface

• Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)

A detailed operation manual is included with this ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable Keyboard to the default settings on the Heidenhain ND280 Display. Make sure both the SmartCable and Heidenhain Digital Display are set to the same values. Refer to the Heidenhain ND280 Digital Display user manual for more information on external communication.

This SmartCable Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
