Maxum III, Maxum Plus E1 Indicator RS232 SmartCable™
Send data to SPC data collection programs
The E1 Mahr Federal Maxum III or Maxum Plus digital indicator is connected to the 2239036 RS232 SmartCable™ gage interface using a high quality 6-pin connector. The RS232 SmartCable™ interface cable connects directly to the gage - no additional cables required. This Advanced Systems & Designs SmartCable™ connects the E1 Mahr Federal Maxum III or Maxum Plus digital indicator to a computer DB9 serial port and will allow the gage to send data to communication and terminal emulation programs (i.e. HyperTerminal) or any SPC data collection software program. This single input RS232 data acquisition gage interface led the industry in offering users a single-input interface option at a time when manufacturers wanted you to buy more ports at each station.
NOTE: This SmartCable™ will NOT send data directly to a spreadsheet program, such as Excel, without using an additional software program. Please see our SmartCable™ Keyboard (600-111-6-KB-USB) if you want to send data directly to Excel or Explorer based SPC program.
Readings can be triggered by any of the following:

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)

Pressing the send button on the gage (if it has one)

Sending a gage read command from the computer to the SmartCable™ gage interface
This SmartCable™ gage interface is capable of sending standard "read gage" (R01) commands from a host computer. The Mahr Federal Maxum III or Maxum Plus RS232 SmartCable™ can send data in several modes; read only, continuous, and others. The SmartCable™ RS232 quickly configures itself through simple DIP switches or host commands.
The SmartCable™ RS232 interface is designed with the harsh shop-floor environment in mind. A detailed operation manual is included with each SmartCable™ including instructions on how to configure your Mahr Federal gage for the proper output format. Six foot cable length. Includes 300-10E power supply.
