The Mettler Toledo AL / PL Classic Light Analytical Balance can communicate with our SmartCable™ USB Keyboard interface cable using the optional RS232 interface. Connect the Mettler Toledo AL / PL Analytical Balance to a computer using this Advanced Systems & Designs SmartCable™ USB Keyboard single gage interface. This ASDQMS SmartCable™ connects directly the Mettler Toledo AL / PL Analytical Balance using a 9-pin male cable connector---no additional cables required.
The output of the ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal. Connecting the ASDQMS SmartCable™ USB Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Mettler Toledo AL / PL Analytical Balance to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required.
The Advanced Systems and Designs SmartCable™ Keyboard will make this Mettler Toledo Compact Light Scale readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Explorer based SPC software programs, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by the following:

Pressing the Print / Transfer button on the Mettler Toledo AL / PL Classic Light Analytical Balance

Pressing the button on the ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
Simple to use!
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable™ USB gage interface. This SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
Six foot standard cable length with special lengths available upon request.
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable™ Keyboard to the default settings on the Mettler Toledo Electronic Scale. Make sure both the SmartCable™ and Mettler Scale are set to the same values. Refer to the Mettler Toledo AL / PL Compact Scale operating instructions for more information on external communication.
