GageMux Gage Interface Options:

The Advanced Systems and Designs GageMux USB multiple input, universal gage interface has transformed data collection and storage by converting analog or digital input into a standard serial ASCII RS232 or Mitutoyo Digimatic signal. It enables users to connect a wide range of measuring devices and gages to automated data collection systems, such as PCs or handheld computers. Compatible with all SPC software programs, the GageMux USB electronic gage interface supports 2, 4, or 8 inputs (daisy-chaining up to 500 gages) and reads directly from Mitutoyo gages or Digimatic output gage cables, including our ASDQMS FlashCable.

Unlike other electronic gage interfaces, the ASDQMS GageMux USB doesn’t require additional software like WinWedge. Its setup is straightforward: when you plug the GageMux into your computer’s USB port, the USB driver is automatically installed—just plug and play! The GageMux USB with Keyboard option can send data to Windows programs (such as Excel, Word, and Internet Explorer) and any SPC software without relying on a software wedge. You can configure it to send an “Enter” key or “Tab” key after each reading.

For users of GE CimWorks Visual SPC or Proficy ShopFloor who need to connect to updated USB COM ports on modern computers, the Advanced Systems and Designs ASDQMS GageMux USB with GagePort Emulation emulates the GagePort GP-2104-NT. Available in 2, 4, or 8 port versions, it offers both USB and RS232 output. If you need to switch to a standard SPC software program, our GageMux with GagePort Emulation can be easily flashed to the standard format.

Since its inception, the ASDQMS GageMux USB has received updates, including faster speed and broader gage compatibility. You can now send readings up to 100 times faster than ordinary serial connections, even at a baud rate of 38,400. By using our FlashCable, the ASDQMS GageMux USB supports gages from over 500 different manufacturers. Additionally, indicator LEDs provide information on whether a reading is being sent to the PC, gage reading correctness, configured output mode (USB, RS232, or Keyboard), and internal jumper status.

The GageMux USB’s electronic gage interface offers configurable options via rotary switches or stored commands. Each port has a red LED for error display, and it connects hundreds of gages to a single RS232, USB serial, or USB keyboard port. It delivers high-speed data to a PC (up to 38,700 baud rate), allows for user-upgradeable firmware, and comes in 2, 4, and 8 port models.
