Send data using the 9-pin RS232 connection
The Advanced Systems and Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable™ RS232 interface is designed with the harsh shop-floor environment in mind. Our single input RS232 data acquisition gage interface led the industry in offering users a single-input interface option at a time when manufacturers wanted you to buy more ports at each station. A detailed operation manual is included with each SmartCable™ RS232 gage interface.
Your Mahr Federal uMaxum, uMaxum XLis connected to the 9-pin female ASDQMS RS232 SmartCable™ gage interface using a high quality connector. The SmartCable™ connects directly to the Mahr Federal uMaxum digital indicator and will allow the gage to send data to communication and terminal emulation programs (i.e. HyperTerminal) and many SPC data collection software programs.
NOTE: This SmartCable™ will NOT send data directly to a spreadsheet program, such as Excel, without using an additional software wedge program. Please see our SmartCable™ Keyboard (600-928-KB-USB) if you want to send data directly to Excel or Explorer based SPC programs without using a messy software wedge.
Readings can be triggered by any of the following:

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)

Sending a gage read command from the computer to the SmartCable™ gage interface
The Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable™ gage interface is capable of sending standard "read gage" (R01) commands from a host computer. The SmartCable™ RS232 quickly configures itself through simple DIP switches or host commands.
Six foot standard cable length with special lengths available upon request.
