The Rinstrum 320 Digital Indicator with IP69K rating converts data from Rinstrum load cells to accurate digital weight readings. This Advanced Systems & Designs SmartCable™ USB Keyboard, single gage interface connects the Rinstrum 320 Digital Indicator directly to a computer. The SmartCable™ Keyboard interface attaches to the Rinstrum 320 Series Digital Indicator using direct wire lead connector---no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable™ Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the SmartCable Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Rinstrum 320 Series Digital Indicator readings to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required. The SmartCable Keyboard will make the Rinstrum 320 Series Digital Indicator readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by the following:

Pressing the SEND button on the Rinstrum 320 Series Digital Indicator

Pressing the button on the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included) or similar triggering device
Simple to use!
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable. This SmartCable Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws. A detailed operation manual is included with each SmartCable™ Keyboard.
At the factory, Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable™ Keyboard to the default settings on the Rinstrum 320 Series Digital Indicator. Make sure both the SmartCable™ and Rinstrum 320 Series Digital Indicator are set to the same communication values. Refer to the Rinstrum 320 Series Digital Indicator Communications and Reference manuals for more information on interface communication.
