This Advanced Systems & Designs SmartCable USB Keyboard single gage interface, connects the Optical Gaging Products (OGP) OQ-14B Comparator to a computer. Connects the OGP OQ-14B Comparator to the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface using a 25-pin male cable connector---no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable USB Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the SmartCable USB to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required. The SmartCable Keyboard gage interface will make the OGP OQ-14B Comparator X or Y digital readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Explorer based SPC programs, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
NOTE: This SmartCable gage interface will send only one axis, either X or Y. Call us if you need a multi-field cable.
Readings can be triggered by:
- Pressing the print key on the Optical Gaging Products (OGP) OQ-14B Comparator
- Pressing the send button on the SmartCable to send either the X or Y coordinate

LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable USB gage interface. This SmartCable Keyboard gage interface is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws. Six foot overall cable length.
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. The communication parameters can be changed and reconfigured per requirements for both the SmartCable and the Optical Gaging Products (OGP) OQ-14B Comparator. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable Keyboard to the default settings on the Optical Gaging Products (OGP) OQ-14B Comparator. Make sure both the SmartCable gage interface and Optical Gaging Products (OGP) OQ-14B Comparator are set to the same values. Refer to the Optical Gaging Products (OGP) OQ-14B Comparator user manual for more information on external communication.
