Omega DFG55 Force Gauge SmartCable™ Gage Interface
Send data directly to Excel---No Software Wedge Required
This Advanced Systems and Designs (ASDQMS) gage interface with keyboard output sends data directly to Microsoft Excel, Explorer-based SPC programs, or other spreadsheet programs without using complicated software wedges. This Advanced Systems & Designs SmartCable™ USB Keyboard, single gage interface, connects the Omega DFG55 Digital Force Gauge to a computer. Connects the Omega DFG55 to the SmartCable™ Keyboard using a 15-pin HD male cable connector---no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable™ Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the SmartCable™ Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge will allow the SmartCable™ gage interface to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no complicated software wedge required. The SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface will make the Omega DFG55 Digital Force Gauge readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Explorer based SPC programs, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by the following:

Pressing the Data / Enter button on the Omega DFG55 Digital Force Gauge

Pressing the pushbutton on the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
Simple to use!
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable™ gage interface. This SmartCable™ Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
Six foot standard cable length with special lengths available on request.
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. The communication parameters can be changed and reconfigured per requirements for both the SmartCable™ and the Omega DFG55 Digital Force Gauge. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable™ Keyboard to the default settings on the Omega Digital Force Gauge. Make sure both the SmartCable™ gage interface and Omega Digital Force Gauge are set to the same values. Refer to the Omega DFG55 Digital Force Gauge user guide for more information on external communication.
