Mettler AM / PM Balance Digimatic FlashCable® Interface Cable
Send data to our GageMux® gage interface or other Digimatic input devices
The Mettler Toledo AM/PM/SM balances are fitted with a bidirectional data interface and an interface for peripherals. The balance can transmit weighing results to a peripheral device using serial RS232. Since the interface is bidirectional, it can receive commands to control the balance (also known as full duplex operation). This Mettler Toledo balance works well with our FlashCable® gage interface allowing us to send a data request to the balance to receive data.
This FlashCable® gage interface is engineered to change the output on the Mettler PM4000 Balance to an output in a Mitutoyo Digimatic format. The special 15-Pin male connector on the Advanced Systems & Designs FlashCable® connects directly to the female connector on the Mettler Toledo bidirectional data interface built into the balance.
This FlashCable® gage interface works with our GageMux® gage interface or similar devices that recognize the Mitutoyo Digimatic signal. When connected to the GageMux® gage interface, the input port provides the power to the FlashCable® gage interface. If using devices, other than the GageMux®, pin 9 of the 10-pin connector must provide a 5VDC supply to the FlashCable® gage interface.
When the FlashCable® is connected to the GageMux®, the LED on the FlashCable® turns GREEN indicating a proper connection. The LED turns RED when the data is being sent or a data request is triggered.
The data transfer can be triggered using the following method:

A detailed operation manual is included with this FlashCable® gage interface. The standard factory setting on the FlashCable® gage interface is the default setting on the Mettler AM / PM Electronic Balance. The Mettler Toledo Balance and FlashCable® gage interface must be set to the same values. Refer to the Mettler AM/PM Balance and Bidirectional Data Interface operating instructions for more information on external communication.
