The Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable™ USB Keyboard single gage interface connects the Olympus Panametrics MagnaMike 8500 Precision Thickness Gage to a computer and sends data to Excel or other spreadsheet programs. The connection of the MagnaMike 8500 to the keyboard gage interface uses a high quality 6-pin cable connector. There are no additional cables required. The output of the keyboard gage interface is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.

By connecting the SmartCable™ Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer, the Panametrics MagnaMike 8500 Precision Thickness Gage is identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application (like Excel) or internet explorer based SPC programs. There is no complicated software wedge required. The gage readings appear as if they were typed in by using a standard keyboard. Data collection errors are eliminated.

You can easily collect the SPC data by pressing the SEND button on the Olympus Panametrics Magna-Mike 8500, pressing an optional Magna-Mike footswitch connected to the device or pressing the button on the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. Set up is easy!
