Simplify your data acquisition system! This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable USB Keyboard single gage interface with Excel compatible output connects the Chicago Dial Indicator (CDI) Logic IQ, Logic ALG Illuminate, Logic Plus, Logic Basic or Starrett 2700 Series and Wisdom digital indicator to a computer. Connects directly to the gage, no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Works on the NEW Logic Illuminate as well
Most gages are powered by batteries. This gage can obtain power directly from the ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard or can use separate power (batteries) of its own. Our recommendation is to remove the batteries from the gage to prevent a future problem with battery corrosion.
Connecting the Advanced Systems and Designs SmartCable Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the SmartCable USB gage interface to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no complicated software wedge required. The SmartCable Keyboard gage interface will make the Chicago Dial Indicator or Starrett digital gage readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates SPC data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Explorer based SPC programs, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by any of the following:
- Pressing the push button on the ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard gage interface
- Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
- Pressing the send button on the gage (if it has one)
This ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard gage interface is easily configured to output data in different modes, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, right and continuous readings with special, built-in timer delays. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws
