SmartCable™ Gage Interface for Sartorius Research R160P Semi Micro-Balance
Send data to Excel - without using Software Wedges
This Advanced Systems & Designs SmartCable™ USB Keyboard single gage interface connects the Sartorius Research R160P Semi Micro-Balance with MP8-6 interface to a computer. Connects the Sartorius Research R160P Electronic Balance to the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface using a 25-pin male cable connector. The output of the SmartCable™ Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Sartorius Research R160P Electronic Balance to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required.
This SmartCable™ Keyboard will make the Sartorius Research R160P Electronic Balance readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Explorer based SPC software, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by the following:

Using the print / send button on the Sartorius Research R160P Semi Micro-Balance.

Pressing the button on the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
Simple to set-up and use!
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable™ gage interface. This SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
Six foot standard cable length with special lengths available upon request.
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS normally sets the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface to the default settings on the Sartorius Research R160P Semi Micro-Balance. Make sure both the SmartCable™ and Sartorius Research R160P Semi Micro-Balance are set to the same values. Refer to the Sartorius Research R160P Semi Micro-Balance and MP 8-6 interface user manual for more information on external communication.
