This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable™ USB Keyboard single gage interface connects the MeasureTek Quality Scales EHP Electronic Balance to a computer. Attaches the MeasureTek Electronic Balance to the SmartCable™ Keyboard using a 9-pin male cable connector---no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable™ Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the SmartCable™ Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the SmartCable to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required. The SmartCable Keyboard will make the MeasureTek Quality Scales EHP Electronic Balance readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered from the MeasureTek Quality Scales EHP Electronic Balance by the following:

Pressing the push button on the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)

Pressing the PRINT button on the MeasureTek EHP Electronic Balance

LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the ASDQMS SmartCable™. This SmartCable™ Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws. Six foot overall cable length.
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable™ Keyboard to the default settings on the MeasureTek Quality Scales EHP Electronic Balance. Make sure both the SmartCable™ and MeasureTek Electronic Balance are set to the same values. Refer to the MeasureTek Quality Scales EHP Electronic Balance user manual for more information on external communication.
