This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable™ USB Keyboard single gage interface connects the Deltronic MPC-5 / DH-214 Digital Display to a computer. Attaches the Deltronic Optical Comparator display to the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface using a 25-pin female cable connector---no additional cables required.
This SmartCable™ USB gage interface allows the user to output up to 2 fields, X and/or Y, in Excel or Explorer keystroke based SPC programs with the push of a button. The output of the SmartCable™ Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal. Connecting the SmartCable™ Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Deltronic MPC-5 / DH-214 Digital Display to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required.
The ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface will make the Deltronic MPC-5 / DH-214 digital readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates SPC data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Explorer based SPC software program, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by any of the following:
- Pressing the push button on the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface
- Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
- Pressing a print / send button Deltronic MPC-5 / DH-214 Digital Display, if it has one

This Advanced Systems and Designs SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface is easily configured to output data from the Deltronic Digital Display in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, or multiple TABs followed by CR. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws. LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable gage interface.
A detailed operation manual is included with this ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs sets the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface to the default settings on theDeltronic MPC-5 / DH-214 Optical Comparator display. Make sure both the SmartCable™ and Deltronic Optical Comparator display are set to the same values. Refer to the Deltronic MPC-5 / DH-214 Optical Comparator handbook for more information on RS232 external communication.
