This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable™ USB Keyboard, single gage interface, connects the A&D BA-T / BA Series Borealis Micro Balance to a computer. With a standard USB 2.0 output, this ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface connects to the A&D Balance using a 9-pin female cable connector---no additional cables required.
Connecting the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the A&D Borealis Series Micro Balance to be identified as a keyboard device that can send numeric data to any Microsoft Windows application (like Excel) or any SPC data collection program using keystrokes - no software wedge required.
This ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard gage interface will output the A&D Borealis Series Balance readings as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard, eliminating data collection errors. If you want to collect SPC data into a Microsoft Excel or any SPC data collection program, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear and transmit the data.
Readings can be triggered by the following:

Pressing the PRINT button on the A&D Borealis Balance

Pressing the button on the ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard gage interface

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
Simple to use! This SmartCable Keyboard comes with an easy to understand instruction manual. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable Keyboard to the default settings on the A & D Balance. Check that the ASDQMS SmartCable and A&D Balance are both set to the same value. LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. This Advanced Systems and Designs SmartCable Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The SmartCable Keyboard's output mode is selected by adjusting an internal rotary switch. Simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws to gain access to the rotary switch.
