12th Feb 2015

In our last blog, we gave you a few tips to make collecting data simpler. To recap, we talked about how, in addition to purchasing one of our gage interface products, you should also develop a consistent process, evaluate your process from time to time and invest in secure storage. Security is a very important aspect for any company that collects data, and the last thing you want is to have to deal with a security breach. The following is a list of tips from our experts on how to prevent a data breach:

  • Audit your current security system- Before you do anything else, it is important for you to know which parts of your system are vulnerable. If you don't quite know what you should be looking for, it is always a good idea to have your audit conducted by a professional.
  • Educate your staff- You can have the best security system in the world, but if your staff aren't on board, it can't work. Educate your staff about the critical role they play in data security.
  • Create clear security policies- The best way to ensure that your staff are aligned with your security goals is to have a clear, easy to understand policy in place. For example, set a precedent that no secure information ever be given over the phone and require all laptops be connected to your company's network.

These are just a few things that you can do to prevent a data breach. Learn more by staying tuned for our next blog!
