This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable™ USB Keyboard single gage interface connects the M-D Pro360, SPI Pro3600 or Mitutoyo 950 Series Digital Protractor to a computer---no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal. This is a two-piece cable that allows for extra long length applications.
Connecting the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Digital Protractor to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required. The ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard will make the SPI Pro3600 or Mitutoyo 950 Series Digital Protractor readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Explorer based SPC programs, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear and trigger a reading.
Readings can be triggered by any of the following:

Pressing the push button on the ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)

Simple to use!
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable™ gage interface. This ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right, and continuous mode with 15 second delay or 30 second delay. The output mode can be selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
There are two modes for data output from the gage. It is based on the sequence of when the SmartCable is plugged into Digital Protractor and when the Digital Protractor is turned on.

Normal mode: In this mode the gage outputs data whenever the push button on the SmartCable™ USB Keyboard (or connected footswitch) is depressed as mentioned above. To select this mode first apply power to the gage (turn ON the gage) and then connecting the SmartCable™ Keyboard to the computer.

Continuous mode: In this mode the gage outputs data continuously. This mode is selected by first plugging the SmartCable™ Keyboard into the computer and digital protractor, then turning on the digital protractor.
