This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable™ USB Keyboard single-gage interface connects the Denver Instrument Company M Series Electronic Analytical Balance to a computer. Attaches the Denver Instrument Company Electronic Balance to the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface using a 9-pin female cable connector---no additional cables required.
The output of the ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal. Connecting the SmartCable™ Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Denver Instrument Company Electronic Balance to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required!
This ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface will make the Denver Instrument Company M Series Analytical Balance readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or explorer based SPC software, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by the following:

Pressing the button on the ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
- Pressing the PRINT button on the Denver Instrument Company M Series Electronic Analytical Balance
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. This SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable™ Keyboard to the default settings on the Denver Instrument Company Electronic Balance. Make sure both the SmartCable™ and Denver Instrument Company Electronic Balance are set to the same values. Refer to the Denver Instrument Company M Series Electronic Analytical Balance operation manual for more information on interface serial communication.
