Traceability

The Work Set view's Data Form provides drop down selection lists for up to three traceability fields. These fields may be used to define subgroup Job (or MO) Numbers, Lot Numbers, or other bits of information you want to attach to a subgroup. Remember that User Name, Gage (if specified), Date and Time are automatically attached to each data value entered, and that Assignable Cause and Corrective Action can also be (optionally) required as separate fields.

The Setup dialog box's Traceability tab (from the Tools menu) allows you to specify the labels, and their items available for selection from the Data Form. Traceability codes for each field may also be made Inactivate to prevent their use. Users with Privilege may 'quick-add' new items during data entry.

A chart whose symbol color and shape are based on specific values of a combination of the Traceability fields is shown below. Say, for example, you wanted to see if Supplier Lot Number, one of your Traceability Fields, had any noticeable effect on the control chart parameter. You can easily use symbol colors and shapes for specific lot numbers to see if any data stratification is present.
