Logging On

Users are logged into the database so that data entry and other actions are traceable to them. You'll see even more ISO / QS 9000 traceability features as we go through this demonstration. The User Name (or any other identification, such as Employee ID number) is selected from the alphanumeric list, which is pre-selected with the last user who logged in from this computer workstation. Optional passwords ensure logon integrity. You can even use barcode readers to enter this information!

If you expect to have a large database, or have many operators entering data quite frequently, you might consider storing your database on an SQL Server. In this case, your Administrator can use the tools we provide for quickly converting the database to an SQL Server database. You can even use a combination of both in your plant!

If you're following along in the sample database, be sure to log in as Bob Jones. Bob has Administrator privileges in the database, so you'll be able to see all the features as we go.
