Data Entry in Work Set View

A new subgroup is entered through the keyboard (or a barcode keyboard-emulator) by selecting the + button in the Data Form. A Gage button (labeled with the gage description you provide) is available when a serial port gage (or multiplexor channel, scale, PLC, CMM, etc.) is specified for the Characteristic in the Work Set. An OK button is used to accept the data.

Some features and options for data entry:

·      Data is automatically marked with Date & Time, User, and Gage, which is useful for ISO 9000 Traceability requirements. For example, if a gage is found to be out of calibration, you can easily search on all the data entered using that gage since its last calibration date.

·      Labels and list items for the Traceability fields (shown below as Supplier Lot Number, Work Station and Job Number) are user-defined. Users with Privilege may "quick-add" new items to lists during data entry.

·      Assignable Cause and Corrective Action fields may be required (optionally) if the subgroup is out of control or violates any of the applied Run Test rules.

·      Validation messages may be used to prompt the user if the entered data value exceeds the Upper or Lower Specification, a factor of the Upper or Lower Specification, or a user-defined value.

·      Validation messages will generally limit the need for data editing, but users who are given that Privilege may edit data. Each data edit writes a record to an Audit Trail for Traceability, and each Audit Trail record may include a Note, so that explanations can be provided for the data editing. Subgroups may also be temporarily omitted from the chart analysis (i.e. made Inactive) by selecting the Subgroup Status option from the Chart menu.

·      The Work Set's Auto Advance feature allows the next page (tab) in the chart window to be automatically visited after a user-specified time delay (to check the process). The Auto Advance feature may be conveniently turned off and on by selecting the Auto Advance option in the Chart menu.

·      The Rainbow chart shown below is color coded to show the Sigma Zones.
