From the Work Set menu in the Work Set View, we can select Edit Work Set to view or change any of the properties of the current Work Set. Other Work Sets can be edited in this same dialog, available from the Setup dialog box (Tools menu), or the Explorer View's Work Set branch.
On the General page, we choose a suitable name for the Work Set, and select which of the Characteristics to include in the Work Set. Remember what we said earlier: you can construct Work Sets a variety of ways, depending on how you choose to collect data. The Active Status setting can be cleared if we don't want Operators to use the Work Set, such as before we release those parts to production, or after the part is obsolete. We'll see later how to delete Work Sets all together.
The Up and Down buttons change the page order (left to right) of the Characteristics in the Work Set view. The page order also determines which Characteristic is next visited when the Auto Advance feature is used. Auto Advance can be set to move to the next Characteristic page either when the subgroup has been completed, or after each value in the subgroup has been entered. This provides flexibility to match the way you take measurements.
The Gages page is used to assign any of the gages in the database to each of the Characteristics in the Work Set. Work Sets can include some Characteristics that use gages, and others that don't.
