The database may be constructed in the Setup dialog box or from the Explorer view. We will show how it is done from the Explorer view here.
The View menu (and right mouse button) allow you to show or hide each of the main branches.
The + to the left of the Privileges branch shown below indicates that branch is collapsed. Clicking on the + will expand the branch, so that the list of Privileges is shown, as was done for the Process / Part branch and for specific Parts within that branch below..
If you click on one of the main branch headings, such as User, with your right mouse button, a Show Records Where.. option is available. This is used to limit the Explorer view's list to those items meeting certain criteria, which is particularly useful for large databases. Notice how the Users branch below is labeled "Filtered" to indicate a limited list is shown.
The right mouse button and one of the menu bar options is updated as you visit the different branches. For example, when we select a specific Part below, the Process / Part menu becomes available, providing the same menu items as the right mouse button.
The Remove option shown in the menu below is used to delete the Part from the database. Deleting Privileges, Parts, Characteristics, Work Sets, Reports, Gages, Analyses and ODBC Import definitions are also separately controlled with user Privileges.
